Timing
The
hill stations of kerala are quite conducive to tourism all year round. However,
fogging during the mnsoon lasting from June to August may hamper free travel
and bring down outdoor visibility. To ensure accommodation during November to
April, make advcance reserevations.
Clothing
It is advisable to have woollens handy always. During trekking shorts are ideal
while high-ankled shoes provide protection against leeches and bugs during rains.
Food
Most restaurants specialize in kerala cuisine which might prove too spicy to
a delicate palate Do ask for toned down preparations, if you require so.
Trekking
In certain neighbouring wildlife centres, trekking on your own is prohibited
for reasons of safety. Employ a guide in such an event. Always check with your
hotel desk before a trek
